SIGN ON DAY - Tuesday 5 October
We will be running a sign on day on Tuesday 5th October at the Sportspark for players to come down and register for the competition and find a team. Games will run in the background to give people chance to meet up and form teams if required.
Games will then be played each ?day at the following times (TBC depending on numbers registered) with the draw to be provided ahead of the 14th October. The social and competitive are planned to be split kick off times to better allow referees to be provided.
Junior - 5:00pm
Social - 6:00pm & 7:00pm
Mixed Competitive - 6:00 & 7:00pm
Some changes to how we plan to run things this season.
The junior division is for U10 to U13. 8 players per side on the pitch at a time to give more playing time but also to not dilute the teams and have some low turn outs like last year. This will be two 20 minute halves to give them some extra time on the field.
The social division is proposed for U14 and up, but mainly aimed at those who are not serious about keeping score, or wish to play with their friends and children. It is proposed to also play 8 per side on the pitch at a time for two halves of 25 minutes, with registered players 16+ not eligible (unless otherwise approved).
The competitive division is proposed to be mixed, also U14 and up, to allow more inclusivety and increase the social aspect. We have found some teams taking the competitive division more seriously than is necessary and it has put many people off this level. Making it mandatory to have mixed teams, including a minimum of two females on the pitch at a time, is a step we feel will improve the culture at the club and build on the success the senior teams have had in improving the rapport in recent times. This division will follow similar rules to previous years with 25 minute halves, 6 per side and a maximum number of 5 registered players per squad (number increased with the mixed nature of the division and registered players not being allowed in social).
All other rules will be provided before kick off as there are some adaptations from the Football Queensland Summer 6's rules.
Formal registration is now open for all players.
ALL PLAYERS MUST REGISTER. YOU MUST COMPLETE FORMAL REGISTRATION AND PAY YOUR REGISTRATION FEE BEFORE PLAYING IN THE COMPETITION.
Please follow this link to complete your registration for this competition. We will have volunteers on site on game days who can help players and parents complete registration if required. But please do not leave this until the last minute as it does take around 10-15 minutes to complete if you are a new player and this will eat into your playing time.
Team Nomination Form is available here.
We hope to see you all there!
